European Championships U23: first place in the lighweight men's double scull

The European U23 Championships were organised in 2021 in the weekend of 4 and 5 september, in Kruszwica, Poland.

Saturday, the 4th of september the Europeans began for me and my teammate, Marlon Colpaert. With a first place in the heats we could qualify immediately in to the A-finals.

Heat 2: BEL, AUT, SUI, ITA, POR

At sunday we rowed at 1:30 PM our A-final. After a good start of our medalrace we were in first position and had a nice overview over the rest of the field. In this position we were able to react to every counterattack from our opponents. We increased our lead, stroke by stroke, and came as fastest crew over the finish line in a new personal best time for our team: 6'17.42"
