Gold at World Cup I

From 27th until 29th the first World Cup took place in Belgrade.

I competed in the light skiff, after a bad heat I was sent on to the repechages in the afternoon. On Saturday there was immediately the final, in which I was able to stunt, after a well controlled 1000m it was time to push through for me. Stroke by stroke I was able to catch up and put myself in front for the last 500m. I was able to maintain this position despite the pressure from the Slovenian. I won the gold at the first World Cup which was beyond all expectations.
